Ivolginsky Dazan is the main Buddhist temple of Russia. Built in 1947 the Dazan is 30 km away from Ulan-Ude. This is the main residence of Central Ecclesiastical Directorate of Russian Buddhists. Once there you might be allowed to talk to lama. If you practice meditation, you will enjoy being there at the time of ritual service and mantras readings.

Visit a Buryat village! Here you will be met at the gate of the Buryat farmstead where you will see a traditional Buryat dwelling—a jurt, as well as intertained by the Buryat folklore, learn about the culture of the Buryats, their traditions and ceremonies. Within the jurt you will sample traditional Buryat cuisine: salamat, noodle soup, posy, fish, pine nuts. On your request, a ram can be cooked in traditional Buryat way. After this astounding supper you will be offered to try yourself in archery, the traditional buryat sport.

This tour is an excursion to the ethnographic museum of Transbaikal (or Dauria), a mountainous region to the east of the Lake Baikal. You will be introduced to the history and culture of the region, listen to old folk songs and play traditional games.
